JV Driver Receives 2008 Q2 VP Safety Award

"It's always difficult to choose the recipient of the VP Safety Award," explained Terry Leatherby, Project Manager, Albian Sands Expansion 1. "Last quarter, the award went to Flint and this quarter it is fantastic that the award goes to another General Works Contractor. The changes JV Driver went through to come back with a different mindset and turn their safety performance around is why they are the recipient of the VP Safety Award for this quarter."

Leatherby, on behalf of Ramzi Fawaz, Vice President, Projects- Oil Sands at Shell, presented JV Driver with their VP Safety Award at a luncheon held July 16 in the Albian Village Lounge.

Accepting the award were JV Driver's Scott McMorran, VP Oil Sands Operations and Jim Gray, VP Construction and Project Director. Mr. Gray, humbly accepted the award, crediting their workers for their achievement. "It was really our crews who came back with a different attitude. This is for them," said Gray.
