Shell Carmon Creek

Gas-turbine and heat-recovery steam-generator installation for a planned 690 MW development.

Shell Carmon Creek · field installation during construction.

Peace River, Alberta

The assignment

The Carmon Creek scope included three Siemens SGT6-5000F gas turbines, rated at 230 MW each, and three heat recovery steam generators. The installation was completed and passed all QC inspections for use. JV Driver worked within an integrated team with Shell and executed approximately $400 million of scope under the project’s largest award. The development was subsequently stopped. The 690 MW figure describes planned project capacity, not commissioned operating output.
