Kearl Lake · slurry preparation and conveyor installation.

KEARL LAKE · ALBERTA

The assignment

At Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake facility, JV Driver erected the slurry preparation plant and ore preparation conveyor system. The work brought together civil, structural, piping and mechanical installation across a four-storey plant and a 0.7-kilometre conveyor. Ground-level pre-assembly helped reduce work at height while the team delivered a complex industrial installation.

Scope of work

  • Slurry preparation plant and ore preparation conveyor installation
  • Civil, structural, piping and mechanical disciplines
  • Ground-level preassembly to reduce work at height

Delivery experience

Separate Kearl site experience includes mechanical maintenance and sustaining-capital scopes in 2017. This experience adds operating-site familiarity to JV Driver’s earlier installation work. The earlier slurry-preparation assignment included a four-storey, 64,200-square-foot plant and a 0.7 km conveyor. Ground-level component preassembly reduced work at height, while site fuelling and road maintenance supported the construction operation.
