Piikani Nation, Alberta
The assignment
JV Driver worked in an advisory role alongside the Piikani Nation project team as it addressed the final requirements for a newly built family-services facility. The work began with a site assessment and project-record review, followed by regular meetings and a coordinated action plan. The focus was to help the Nation’s team understand the remaining work, obtain required documentation and make informed decisions about closeout.
Scope of work
- On-site assessment and project-document review
- Weekly coordination and action planning
- Advice on remaining technical and closeout requirements
- Contingency planning and support for Nation-led decisions
Delivery experience
The 2024 report records a closeout meeting that established the remaining priorities and a path toward resolution. The team was still awaiting the relevant inspector and fire-marshal approvals at the time. The documented contribution is improved coordination and progress toward opening, rather than confirmation that the facility had opened.
