JV Driver International has a proven track record of delivering complex, challenging projects, particularly in difficult, remote locations. This capability has allowed us to work with some of the best clients in the world constructing roads, bridges, airports, port facilities and other structures.

Internationally, we have a successful track record in collaborating with the Canadian Government through their Canadian Commercial Credit (CCC) and Export Development Corporation (EDC) to deliver finance/design/build solutions. This experience gives us the expertise to understand the complexities and sensitivities in working in different locations and cultures around the world. Our latest project is for an inland container terminal in Ghana.

In a joint venture with Belvedere Place Contracting and Meridian Construction,  JVD International completed this design/build pier expansion in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. This project included dredging Road Town harbor to 40 feet and lengthening and widening the existing cruise ship pier to accommodate larger and more modern cruise ships. The team retained BEA Architects who had to consider design conflicts with existing piles while providing additional strengthening to berth the larger ships. The project was fast-tracked with one side of the pier completed in only seven months and total construction in only 14 months. Construction highlights include self-performing pre-cast concrete elements, hard dredging, and piling of 208 piles ranging from 24”- 48” diameter over 200’ long. About 100,000 cubic yards was dredged and used to create approximately four acres of land adjacent to the pier. Work included shoreline protection and a passenger boardwalk to access a new cruise ship passenger amenities and retail venues.

Skookum Creek hydroelectric project is a 25 megawatt (MW), run-of-river project located approximately 70 km north of Vancouver and 12 km east of Squamish, BC in the Sea to Sky corridor. The project will generate 88,000 megawatt-hours per year of clean, renewable electricity, or enough electricity to power approximately 8,300 homes. The project is located on Skookum Creek, a tributary of the Mamquam River. The project will be connected to the BC Hydro electric system at Squamish via a 20 km, 138kV transmission line. IDL completed the concrete construction of powerhouse and intake along with the associated works.

IDL Projects Inc completed the Rehabilitation of the Sangster International Airport Runway, through a joint venture that included Surrey Paving and Aggregate Co. Ltd., Belvedere Place Developments Ltd. and IDL Projects Inc. - forming SBI JV Ltd. for the completion of the rehabilitation work. The project was successfully completed in 2013, funding for the work was financed by the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank.
