Airport Expansion

The Phase I and II expansion was composed of an airport runway extension, runway widening and resurfacing, drainage improvements and electrical modifications. Scope included 220,000 m3 of excavation; geo-grid and fabric; 4,510 lm of storm drainage and sub-drains; 72 manholes; concrete encased CMP pipes, 586,000 tonnes of granular fill; 136,000 tonnes of crush gravel; 52,000 tonnes of asphalt; 3,600 lm of center lights, 14,271 lm of electrical duct, localizer upgrades, runway signage installation, communication relocation and extension, removal of LIALS and reinstallation, installation of perimeter fencing; and new fueling/deicing pad including concrete aprons and glycol/fuel drains and collection system.
