At the JV Driver Group we understand construction and fabrication can be hard work and we’re committed to doing anything and everything it takes to keep our employees safe and that includes doing a short but effective daily stretch before we begin our workday. It is one of the often-overlooked ways to prevent on-site injuries before they happen. While this daily practice isn’t an entirely novel or groundbreaking idea, we do believe its effectiveness is well-founded.
Some of the benefits of a daily stretch include:
Reduced muscle tension and discomfort
- Improve musculoskeletal disorders
- Increased range of movement in the joints
- Enhanced muscular coordination
- Increased circulation of the blood to various parts of the body
- Increased energy levels (resulting from increased circulation)
- Last, the added benefit of spending some quality group-bonding time!
Now, if you’re feeling really motivated, you could also do a solo stretch after your day’s work! Post-work stretching can result in faster muscle recovery, less soreness, and ensure your muscles are still in working order and ready to hit the next day! The more conditioned your muscles and tendons are, the better they can handle the rigours of a full physical work day and the less likely they’ll be injured in the future.
